Camaro

I purchased the Camaro in 2001 thinking it would be an easy project to get complete. I had always wanted a 1st Generation Camaro, and when we found the convertible, it was a project that both myself and my wife would enjoy.  It turns out that the restoration wouldn’t be that easy afterall. First, I let the car sit for 4 years in storage before I even started the rebuild.  Then, I found many hidden problems with the body.

Now in 2004, I have the mechanical parts of the car complete.  I found a 1968 396 Big Block engine that I had rebuilt to give me the power I wanted, and a Tremec TKO-500 5 speed manual tranmission to put the power to the ground. After I enjoy the summer driving the car, I will tear it back down and start the body work for a winter project. Below you will find pictures of my progress.

OK, so it is now the summer of 2005, and I’m not done. I have taken it back apart and started the body work. This is more difficult than I expected.
